Prohibition in Afghanistan

There is talk about treating alcohol in Afghanistan in the same class as opium! The Afghan government is currently debating this new law. The debate also centers around whether it will be imposed on the international community working here, focused around whether non muslims are bound by sharia law. Either way, the main (and only) supplier of liquid refreshments has decided to stop selling on July 15. I am picturing expats rioting in the streets. Prohibition didn't work in Chicago, I don't know why the Afghan government thinks it will work here. For those of us bootlegging, it just means higher profits.
